Kristi Hall, M.A., LMFT
Whether you’ve been in therapy before or you’re taking your first steps now, you know that it is crucial that you find someone who you can connect with, feel at ease with, and who you know just “gets it.”
My clients and colleagues tell me I am affirming, direct, and funny. I believe deeply in the intrinsic strength, worth, and dignity of every individual, and I consider it an honor to walk alongside people on their journeys. I am passionate about helping people find healing in the areas of their lives that feel broken and move toward experiencing a full and free life.
What to Expect from Therapy
It is important to me that you feel I am a good fit for your individual needs. I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation to see if we are a good fit. This is a time for you to ask questions about me and my therapy style, as well as a time for you to share a bit about yourself. If you do decide to move forward, your first session will be a more in-depth introduction. During this initial session, we will discuss a number of things often including the following topics:
Why you chose to schedule therapy now
Past experience with cognitive and behavioral healthcare
Current or past physical health conditions
Goals for your therapy sessions
Forms of therapy that may be beneficial
After the first visit, where our sessions go will really be up to you. My role is to guide you and provide you with the tools you need to achieve your goals. This can look very different from one person to another. We will work as partners to create a successful therapy process that will help you handle any challenges life can throw at you.
My Areas of Specialty
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I am experienced in working with individuals, couples, and families in a clinical setting and I have a background working with adolescents in a school-based setting. I have specialized training in Brainspotting, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Intuitive Eating Counseling, Maternal Mental Health, and Prepare/Enrich premarital counseling.
How I Spend My Free Time
When I’m not partnering with my clients on their life journeys, I am happily married and the proud mother of two young children. I have a strong desire but devastating inability to garden, a love of hiking the north shore on Lake Superior, writing, and baking
